Starting tomorrow any yahoo in my state can open carry without a permit. This makes sense. Our great state wants everyone to keep their god given right to endanger the lives of others.

There is not an ounce of sense in this. I have nothing against responsible gun ownership. I have a lot to say about allowing the easy availability of lethal weapons to any adult with a pulse. If the last 18 months have told us anything at all about ourselves it is this: a certain rather large percentage of us are complete idiots with absolutely no concern for the well-being of others. They already feel justified in violence against such threats to their personal safety , Dangerous people are everywhere. They are afraid of people with too much melanin in the skin, those who worship differently or not at all, women, rainbow flags, teachers, scientists and the greatest threat of all, liberals. So, instead of menacing someone for masking at the grocery store, they can shoot up the produce aisle instead. Even better, their children can find mommy’s gun and go shoot the neighbor’s child. Isn’t that what conflict resolution is all about?

We have a large vocal minority of extremest calling for civil war. They emulate Isis with their pickup trucks and flags. They admire the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan ( all the while hating Muslims.) Death to the infidels. Death to the liberals. Death to an eighty year old epidemiologist calling for public safety in a pandemic.

Guns don’t kill people. Politicians who approve of and pass laws that allow even easier access to guns kill people.

Isn’t that what the Pro Life party is all about?
