Solutions

There have been many times over the past few years that reality has been turned on it’s head. Their was a brief period late last winter when I actually had some cautious optimism. We appeared to be heading back to a place where reality was in residence. Perhaps we might even move forward a bit as a nation. It would be nice if the rest of the world didn’t look on us in horror.

Silly me. I was so naive.

The war against reality has simply shifted from the national level to the individual states. This isn’t just a war against rational thought. This is a bald face assault on our representative government. This is an assault on the lives of it’s on citizens. This is a civil war. There are no winners in a civil war.

But, on the bright side rape has been abolished. Just like that it’s gone. Amazing.

Mr Abbot didn’t elucidate the official blueprint to accomplish this, so I came up with a few of my own suggestions.I can see a couple of ways this can be accomplished quickly and efficiently. I thought I would share.

How about if we make the victim, marry the rapist? Now it isn’t rape. Now it ‘s just a pre-honeymoon snuggle. If we use this approach ,we will need to keep the current marriage equality laws (men are raped),and lower the marriage age to zero (infants are raped.) There is also the issue of mixed race marriage. It may be ok if a thirty year old man marries a first grader girl, but we cannot allow a white thirty year old to marry a black first grade boy. Perhaps forced marriage to the rapist needs closer scrutiny. There may be a few bugs to work out.

Perhaps, we need to attack the rape victim in the courts and our police offices. . We could humiliate and ruin they’re reputation. We can make the trauma of reporting the rape more traumatic than assault itself. Oh, wait, we already do that. We just need to up the intensity of the harassment. This may be doable…

The simplest option is to legalize rape. No crime. No victim. Easy-peasy. There is a small problem with the above scenario, however. There may be more unwanted babies being born. This will, unfortunately, trickle down into the foster system. We already have children sleeping on CPS office floors. It shouldn’t take too much effort to line up some cribs. Infants can be left on their own over night, right? Look how well lining babies up in cribs to be neglected worked in Romania in the 70’s. After all, infants just need life. Caring for them once they are here is purely optional.

What has happened to us?
